The following resources may be useful to you if you are expecting a baby, planning on becoming pregnant, or are already a parent. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive, but rather an overview of some available resources.

2-1-1 is a simple, easy-to-remember number to call when you want to find or give help in Brevard County. Trained 2-1-1 specialists are available around the clock to help people who:

  • Are seeking information about or referral to local governmental, health and social services.
  • Want to talk to someone about grief, relationship issues, personal crisis, family concerns, etc.
  • Are depressed and/or considering suicide.

If you’re pregnant or a new mom, there is a free service called text4baby that can help keep you and your baby healthy. Text4baby will send 3 text messages each week to your cell phone with expert health tips to help you through your pregnancy and your baby’s first year.

Early Head Start
Children’s Home Society of Brevard operates Early Head Start for low-income eligible families throughout the county. Early Head Start can help you guide your child’s early years as you lay the foundation for your child to be ready to enter Pre-K.
Head Start
Brevard County School Board operates Head Start centers for low-income eligible families at schools throughout the county. Head Start is a high quality federally funded program that serves eligible three and four year old children and their families. The Head Start program is the first step in a continuum of care, education and family services that provides stable uninterrupted support beginning in preschool and extending into elementary school.

Florida Chapter of The Tears Foundation
A warm and caring atmosphere where grieving parents with similar experiences can come together and feel comfortable sharing their feelings about loss and their love for their babies. Participation is absolutely FREE, voluntary and all information is kept confidential.
